Nature's True Colors

I wanted to show nature through color with these. I really liked editing these. The end is my favorite. I had some decent cuts between videos. They turned out very well, I think that's why I liked working with them so much.

For the montage stills, I wanted them to be most 'Human'. That is, really trying to get the most natural poses. Making it so they didn't look staged. I wanted them to tell a story. I was also looking for color contrast and difference.

Of the three final edited movies, this is my favorite. I absolutely love the shot of the purple flower. It took a while to edit. I wanted to have a more repeated effect on the videos and images. It gives more of a rush to them.

Once again, I wanted to work with the colors and the transfers of colors. Also, with the videos, with one leading into another. The video was centered around my purple flower because it was my favorite shot.

I wanted to go from big to small again with montages and upclose shots. I liked editing with this one because the shots, to me, were so pure. I think that's why I picked this type of light strategy.

With these, and the other edited ones, I wanted to get more of a repeated effect of my video. I feel it's more artistic. I also liked the way that some of the pictures flowed into the videos. And also how some of the pictures made videos themselves.

Here, I wanted to go from small to big. I like the colors of the flowers, then going to a group of girls huddled on the beach.

I wanted to let out the brilliance of color with these upclose pictures. With greens, purples, pinks and reds. I think it worked out well.

With these, I wanted to go from big to small, starting from the montage pictures to up-close. I liked haveing things in the forground of the shots. It gave more depth and scale which is what I was really going for.

Montages pictures are some of my favorite ways to take pictures. If you time them right, they can be very beautiful. These pictures were fun because every time I took a picture, I got something more than what I was looking for.

A Closer Look at Nature

In this video, I wanted to get really close to nature. I wanted to get inside flowers to see waht was in it, I wanted to get close to objects to see their detail. I was even lucky to get some insects like flies and ladybugs inside my flowers. Other pictures took me a while because it was hard to set up.

Light Capturing Strategies #2

For my second strategy, I chose to take pictures on open spaces with something or someone in the foreground. I really like the size and image difference. Also, capturing the different colors in the sky during a sunset. Or the color difference between the sky and the ground. I like having something in the foreground because it gives more scale to the over-all picture and becuase I feel it's just more artistic. I have taken mostly wtill with these but I think the over-all turn out is good.

For my first stragey, I chose to do extreme close-ups. I chose this becuase I really like getting up close with oblects. You can really see the details of whatever you are capturing. I have already gone on my trek and got still and videos of objects up close. A lot of them are very interesting.
